The geographical scope of the programme is very wide. The scholarship is available for the members of a Hungarian diaspora community living in any country outside of the European Union, the Republic of Serbia or the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine. Applicants are required to be citizens of one of the countries involved in the programme.
Acquiring a Diaspora Recommendation Letter issued by a Hungarian diaspora organisation or the local Hungarian embassy or consulate is an important prerequisite to applying. It is recommended that applicants contact the diaspora organisations or diplomatic missions 1 or 2 months prior to the application deadline.

Please note that this list of Hungarian diaspora organisations is updated periodically, however it should not be considered a comprehensive list; it should be regarded as a guidance to support applicants only. If you already know a Hungarian diaspora organisation in your area, please contact them.
