HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE TEST

Prove your Hungarian with the language test of the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy!

As a Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship holder, you need to prove your Hungarian knowledge till the latest one year after you receive your degree. To meet this requirement, you can either take an official language exam in Hungarian, or as a new opportunity you can also receive a certificate by taking the Hungarian as a foreign language proficiency test managed by Hungarian Diplomatic Academy.

The test is for all Diaspora Scholarship holder, but if you hold Hungarian citizenship, and cannot take the official language tests, for you this is the only way you can prove your Hungarian.

The language test is available twice a year in June and December, the registration is at the website of the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy.

cover — Another great Diaspora community meeting in Sátoraljaújhely
The Diaspora Weekend Community Meeting took place between 17 and 19 November in Sátoraljaújhely, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Rákóczi Association, and the Tempus Public Foundation.

Welcoming the new Diaspora scholarship holders of the 2023/2024 Academic Year!
On 20 October the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Tempus Public Foundation officially welcomed the new students of the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme. It was a wonderful afternoon with lots of fun in the vivid center of Budapest.

clk — Community-building programmes
An important objective of the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme is to give you the opportunity to learn the Hungarian language and deepen your Hungarian identity through learning about the common history and culture, while studying in Hungary. After graduation, you will return home with competitive knowledge and skills, and you will be able to actively support your diaspora community, strengthening the ties between Hungary and the diaspora.

Rights and Obligations, Scholarship Agreement

We advise that you check back regularly for any updates the Operational Regulations of the scholarship programme, as the changes might affect your scholarship holder status.
When reading the Regulations, please pay special attention to obligations of scholarship holders, such as the so-called minimum credit requirement (IV.3.7) or the obligation of learning Hungarian as a foreign language (III.2.1.g)).
