Celebrating 23 years of Hungarian Sports Day

Hungary has achieved outstanding success in many sports over the past decades. Our athletes among others, have won multiple Olympic gold medals. On 6 May 1875, the Hungarian Athletics Club organised its very first outdoor sports competition of both Hungary and Europe. To commemorate the occasion, we have celebrated Hungarian Sports Day on this day since 2000.

Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Cultural Capital

Each year, the European Capital of Culture programme aims to support the status of a major European cultural scene or a tourist destination. This year Veszprém and the Bakony-Balaton region will share the title and build a new cultural and creative region with its stakeholders and inhabitants. Come and visit Veszprém and take part in the city’s colourful programmes!

I have visited Hungary many times and always felt at home

Meet Koral Aviv from Israel, a second-year medical student at Semmelweis University in Budapest. Her parents are of Hungarian descent, so she has visited Hungary several times. She applied for the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship to study at one of the best medical universities in Europe and to learn more about her Hungarian heritage.
