PROGRAMME COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES

The programme has a broad geographical scope and is open to members of the Hungarian diaspora community residing in any country outside the European Union, the Republic of Serbia, and the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine.

Applicants must hold citizenship of one of the eligible countries participating in the programme.

Obtaining the Diaspora Recommendation Letter

A key prerequisite for submitting an application is obtaining a Diaspora Recommendation Letter, which may be issued by:

    • a Hungarian diaspora organisation, or
    • the Hungarian Diplomatic Mission (embassy or consulate) responsible for your place of residence.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant diaspora organisation or diplomatic mission at least 1–2 months prior to the application deadline, as the issuance process may require additional time.
