Kapocs – A Global Game for Hungarian Youth
In Memory of Árpád János Potápi
Jointly organized by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Education and Regional Development of the University of Pécs, the Forgass a Földért Foundation, and the World Hungarians Network Program Office, in professional partnership with the Árpád János Potápi Foundation, we are pleased to announce the international competition:
“Kapocs – A Global Game for Hungarian Youth”
Purpose of the Program:
To connect young Hungarians living around the world, strengthening national identity and community cohesion.
The three-round competition will take place between August 20, 2025 and January 22, 2026.
Who Can Apply?
– Young people aged 14–25 from Hungarian communities abroad and the diaspora
– Young people and communities from Hungary
Competition Structure:
- First Round: Online quiz testing knowledge of Hungarian history, culture, and geography
- Second Round: Creative video contest: “What does being Hungarian mean to me?”
- Final Round: Preparation in host towns in Hungary, followed by a national final
Grand Prize:
A two-week holiday in Hungary around August 20, 2026, with family or friends
The winner will be awarded the title of Kapocs Ambassador, representing Hungarian youth worldwide for one year
Preparation:
Participants will be supported by Kapocs Academy through online lectures starting in summer 2025
