Number of Applications Submitted
A total of 302 applications were submitted for the 2025/2026 academic year, with 237 meeting the basic eligibility requirements. This shows a strong and steady interest in the scholarship, which continues to attract a diverse group of international applicants.
Popular Study Fields
The most popular study fields for scholarship holders this year were Medicine, the Hungarian Language Preparatory Programme, Computer Science, and Business Administration and Management—all available in English. While many students applied for undergraduate programmes, graduate and non-degree programmes also saw significant interest.
Countries Represented
The scholarship is open to members of the Hungarian diaspora from outside the European Union, the Republic of Serbia, and the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine. In 2025, applications came from various countries worldwide, with more than 50% of applicants hailing from the United States, Canada, and Israel, underscoring the global reach of the programme.
Participating Hungarian Universities
This year, 35 Hungarian higher education institutions participated in the programme, offering a wide range of academic opportunities. The most popular choices for applicants were Eötvös Loránd University, Semmelweis University, and Corvinus University of Budapest.
