Busó festivities of Mohács
Dear Mentees,
Discover one of Hungary’s most iconic folk traditions!
Join us for a two‑day cultural trip to Pécs and the world‑famous Busójárás in Mohács on February 14–15, 2026.
The Busójárás is not only one of Hungary’s best‑known folk customs, but part of a wider family of rituals found across many cultures. These celebrations bid farewell to winter, welcome spring, offer protection, and celebrate fertility. The Mohács tradition is also linked to a local legend from the time of the Turkish occupation, giving the festival a powerful historical and mythical atmosphere.
