COMMUNITY WORK

As a Hungarian Diaspora scholarship holder, you are required to support the Hungarian diaspora with community work in any given country. This mandatory commitment must be completed within 2 years after obtaining your diploma. As a former scholarship holder, you also need to submit an online report each year, by 31 August, about your progress with your community contributions and how you are helping the diaspora community. Below, you can find the most important documents connected to community work.

The field of work is not regulated; however, the work needs to contribute to the Hungarian diaspora community and deepen the ties between Hungary and the diaspora community.
  • You can complete your community work in any country.
  • The minimum number of working hours is 100 hours per year.
  • You are required to submit a written report both on the first and the second year of community work, by 31 August. The report must be submitted in the form of an online questionnaire and must include a certificate issued by the host organisation (check out the template here).

ABOUT HOST ORGANISATIONS

Are you looking for a place to complete your community work?

To help you in your decision, Tempus Public Foundation has created a list of host organizations, based on their capacities, needs and willingness to welcome graduates for community work. The list is based on the information received from the diaspora organizations that are in contact with TPF. It includes details on the types of activities available and serves as a great starting point for your research. Importantly, you are free to complete your community work at any other eligible organization which is not included in the list.

FOR DIASPORA ORGANISATIONS

If your organisation wishes to host graduated scholarship holders for community work, please contact us to be added to our list. If you are already listed and need to update your details, please get in touch with us as well.
