Let\u2019s start with the holidays that are relevant regardless of your university: 15 March is a national holiday (Memorial Day of the Hungarian Revolution in 1848); 15 April is Good Friday and 18 April is Easter Monday. Another annual holiday is Whit Monday on 6 June so prepare your schedule accordingly.<\/p>\n

While it is very important to know in advance when you can expect a day off during your semester, you also need to focus on the dates of the academic periods that may differ from university to university. Here is a non-exhaustive list of university schedules that might help you to navigate during the upcoming semester.<\/p>\n

E\u00f6tv\u00f6s L\u00f3r\u00e1nd University – ELTE<\/strong> starts its spring term with online education which will last from 7 February until 14 May. Spring break is between 13-19 April, and the exam period starts on 16 May and lasts until 2 July.<\/p>\n

At the Budapest Business School \u2013 BGE<\/strong>, the University of Szeged – SZTE <\/strong>and the \u00d3buda University<\/strong> – OE<\/strong> the term period starts on 7 February and lasts until 14 May. The exam period for BGE and SZTE is between 16 May and 25 June and at OE it is between 16 May and 18 June.<\/p>\n

At the P\u00e1zm\u00e1ny P\u00e9ter Catholic University – PPKE,<\/strong> the term period starts on 14 February and lasts until 15 May and the Spring break is between 11-22 April. The exam period starts on 23 May and lasts until 2 July.<\/p>\n

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics – BME<\/strong> will also start their term period on 14 February but it ends on 20 May. The exam period is between 30 May and 27 June while Spring break is between 14 and 20 April.<\/p>\n

At the Corvinus University of Budapest<\/strong> the term period will start on 7 February and will last until 21 May. Spring break will be between 11 and 14 April; while the exams will start on 23 May up until 18 June.<\/p>\n

The spring and exam terms at the Semmelweis University \u2013 SOTE, <\/strong>at the University of Debrecen \u2013 DE<\/strong> and at the University of P\u00e9cs<\/strong> – PTE<\/strong> vary between the faculties. And last but not least, the term period at the University of Miskolc – ME<\/strong> will be between 7 February and 13 May, while the exam period starts on 16 May and lasts until 25 June.<\/p>\n

As you can see, while in most cases these periods correlate among Hungarian Universities, there are always some differences you should take into account, so make sure you check out the relevant websites of your university!<\/p>\n
